Avilla Community Garden

Avilla Community Garden was awarded funding through Arkansas Agriculture Department and Saline County Conservation District.

🌱 Growing Food. Growing Community. Growing Together.

The Avilla Community Garden is a shared space where neighbors come together to grow fresh produce, learn new skills, and strengthen the sense of community that makes Avilla special. What began as a simple idea — creating a place where anyone can dig in the soil and take part in something meaningful — has grown into a vibrant hub of collaboration, education, and hands‑on stewardship.

🌿 A Place for Everyone

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or planting your very first seed, the garden offers a welcoming environment for all ages and skill levels. Volunteers help maintain shared beds, tend their own plots, and support seasonal projects that benefit the entire community.

🍅 Fresh Food & Healthy Living

The garden promotes access to fresh, locally grown produce while encouraging healthy lifestyles. Many of the vegetables, herbs, and flowers grown here are shared with local families, community programs, and neighbors in need.

🧑‍🌾 Learning & Growing

Workdays, workshops, and youth activities give community members the chance to learn about soil health, composting, pollinators, native plants, and sustainable gardening practices. The garden also partners with local schools and organizations to provide hands‑on educational opportunities.

🤝 Community at the Center

More than just a garden, this space is a gathering place — a spot where friendships form, ideas grow, and people work side‑by‑side to make Avilla a healthier, greener, and more connected community.

🌻 Get Involved

Volunteers, sponsors, and new gardeners are always welcome. Whether you want to adopt a plot, help with seasonal clean‑ups, donate materials, or simply enjoy the space, there’s a place for you in the Avilla Community Garden.

Grants to District supporting the community garden highlights different growing techniques, including aquaponics, and brings the community together through hands-on learning and shared experiences.
