Beaver Eradication Program

Beaver Management and Control
Beavers play an important role in shaping natural ecosystems, but in certain locations their activity can cause flooding, damage roads and culverts, and impact agricultural land, timber, and infrastructure. When beaver activity creates safety concerns or economic loss, responsible management may be necessary. Beaver control options can include relocation when feasible, as well as population reduction or removal when relocation is not practical or effective. All management actions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, with consideration given to landowner needs, environmental impacts, and applicable state regulations. The goal of beaver management is to balance wildlife conservation with the protection of property, water resources, and public safety.

Beaver Bounty

Arkansas Beaver Control Program
The Arkansas Beaver Control Program was created to address widespread damage caused by beaver activity to agricultural lands, timber, roadways, and drainage systems. In coordination with this program, the Saline County Conservation District offers a $20 bounty per beaver tail to help reduce damage and protect land and infrastructure within the county.
