Tree Planting Project
Rooted in Conservation, Growing for the Future
The Saline County Conservation District participated in the Central Arkansas Tree Planting Project this 2026 fiscal year. We partnered with the Saline River Watershed Alliance and the U of A Extension Services to support future riverbank restoration efforts and community beautification projects throughout Saline County.
As part of this initiative, volunteers and community partners planted approximately 1,000 tree seedlings into pots to establish a supply of native trees for future restoration and beautification projects. These trees will be used to stabilize eroding streambanks, improve water quality, reduce sediment runoff, enhance wildlife habitat, and restore degraded areas along local waterways. By growing the trees in advance, the District will be better prepared to respond to restoration and beautification needs at schools, parks, public spaces, and other locations throughout the county.
